International Women's Day 2020
Google Doodle
IWD 2020
Google Doodles are the fun, surprising, and sometimes spontaneous changes
that are made to the Google logo to celebrate holidays, anniversaries,
and the lives of famous artists, pioneers, and scientists. For the International
Women’s Day 2020 Doodle, we had the great honor to become
featured artists. Based on the sketches of paper artists Makerie Studio,
we created an entire paper-like mandala in 3D. The key visual
consists of 35 emale characters, which are subdivided into three layers,
representing different eras of women standing up for their rights.

The origin of the characters

There was so much thought put into each of the 35 characters and how they
were placed within the mandala. Starting from the center, it walks us through different time periods and depicts the issues women were facing in these times. Our biggest takeaway from the artwork is that we were reminded
of how women fought and evolved through history so we can live the free life we live today. Without these women, the world would look much different.
